The Warm Down
The warm down is just as important as any other part of a work out. If you have completed a tough session and have worked anaerobically then you will have a build up of lactic acid in the muscles – the warm down – using the muscles at a low intensity – will help rid the body of the acid in the muscles, and efficiently deliver nutrients required for recovery. In this way a warm down will help to avoid soreness after the workout.
