Give your dry trainers an outing & raise some money for the club!
Last year a few club members ran the Lewes Easter 10k to raise money for the club – and it was a great success!
The run is on Easter Monday (1st April 2013) and is a flat (bar one very small hill), easy course for beginners. It starts & finishes at Lewes athletics track but is mostly through fields and along farm tracks. The whole event is very informal, open to all (you don’t have to be part of an athletics club to run) and the atmosphere last year was really welcoming and friendly.
Although 10k will be a challenge, (especially if you don’t run often!), it is certainly a distance within reach of anyone with an already good level of fitness – i.e. anyone who’s been rowing or running this winter!
So…are you interested?
YES! Find out more at http://www.lewesac.co.uk/easterfunrun.php and sign up for a place online. You will then be sent an entry number and further information.
Shoreham Rowing Club has an account with BT My Donate. An event has been set up on this fundraising site – go to https://mydonate.bt.com/events/srclewes10k/95984. Sponsors can either donate to this page directly, or you can set up your own fundraising page to share with family & friends by clicking “Start Fundraising” at the bottom of the page, in the box saying “Create a fundraising page for this event”.
If we have 10 people doing this and each raises only £50 we’ll have made a whopping £500 for the club….it’s a great (and fun) event!
If you have any questions either find Sarah B at the club or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Feel free to get friends, parents & siblings involved as well! Happy running!
