Regatta Report

Light winds and calm seas once again greeted the Coastal Amateur Rowing Association as Shoreham Rowing Club, and other clubs across Kent and Sussex travelled to the north Kent coast to race the 10th regatta of the 2014 season,. Without any cancellations or reschedules this is an unprecedented number of consecutive races going ahead unhindered by the weather.

For Shoreham Rowing Club some excellent performances across the board put them top on the day, collecting the most points for first, second and third place finishes out of the 9 clubs competing and for the second time in the 2014 season earning them the coveted Grand Aggregate Trophy.

Performance of the day came from Shoreham’s Men’s Novice Four of Luke Denis Le Sève, Max Huxtable, Toby Strevens and Olli Knight, who after two weeks of hard training raced home in style for their first ever win.  Success also came from the Ladies Junior Four, Ladies Junior Pair, Ladies Senior Four, Ladies Senior Pair and the under-16 Girls’ coxed quad. Second places in the Men’s Junior Single Scull and Men’s Junior Pair and a third in the Ladies Junior Pair helped secure the trophy.
