Two weeks after gale force winds stopped Shoreham from staging the first regatta of the 2013 CARA season, we got underway at Dover. Light winds and sunny intervals made for good rowing conditions in Dover Harbour in front of a good crowd of rowers, supporters and onlookers.

Shoreham Rowing Club had a truly fantastic start to the season, gaining their best results in 6 years.  Shoreham Ladies flying the flag for the club, and completing (what is to my knowledge) a CARA first, a ladies whitewash; winning every ladies status event held – Ladies Senior Fours, Ladies Senior Pairs, Ladies Junior Fours, Ladies Junior Pairs, Ladies Novice Fours and Ladies Double Sculls. Shoreham’s men also did well with solid performances from the Novice men racing with a scratch crew, 2 second places despite incident packed races for the Junior men and a promising start from the senior pairs.

Shoreham also picked up the Junior aggregate and second in the grand aggregate,  see the unofficial race results below.
